It has been announced that another studio is closing down. After 11 years of operation, Canada’s Archiact Interactive, the developer behind VR games Journey to Foundation and FREEDIVER: Triton Down, is set to close its doors.

Archiact Interactive announced on social media that it would cease operations in two weeks. The official statement did not specify the reasons behind this decision.
In 2024, Archiact Interactive went through two rounds of layoffs — in January and June. In winter, the studio gave no specifics, but in summer it explained that it had to downsize due to issues within the gaming industry.
According to the Game Industry Layoffs portal, about 35 people will lose their jobs as a result of Archiact Interactive's closure.
