In 2022, China’s gaming market earned $40.1 billion, which is 10.3% less than the previous year. As noted by SCMP with reference to the data of the Association of Audio-Video and Digital Publishers of China, previously for two decades the market revenue only grew.

The publication reported that the number of gamers in China also decreased, by 0.33% to 664 million people.

Earlier, the fall was predicted by analysts at Niko Partners. But they assumed that the revenue of the Chinese gaming market would be $ 45.4 billion, and the number of gamers — 701.8 million people.
