Remedy Entertainment announced a deal with film company Annapurna Pictures, the "parent" of game publisher Annapurna Interactive. They have become strategic partners.
Control
The following terms of the deal were disclosed to the public:
- Annapurna will cover half of the expenses associated with the development of Control 2. The exact amount is not specified;
- after recouping the investments, Remedy will begin to receive the majority of the game's revenue;
- Annapurna will own the rights to adapt the Control and Alan Wake franchises for "movies, television, and other audiovisual formats." The companies have not made any specific announcements;
- the majority of revenue from audiovisual productions will go to Annapurna;
- Remedy will retain the remaining rights to the franchises and remain the publisher of Control 2.
According to Remedy, the partnership with Annapurna is an exciting opportunity for the studio. It will allow Remedy to focus on developing Control 2 and its other games, making them as good as possible.
