The analytics firms Circana and NielsenIQ shared insights with The Game Business portal regarding the sales of third-party games on the Nintendo Switch 2 in the United States and the United Kingdom. Below are some figures.
Cyberpunk 2077
- In the US, non-Nintendo projects accounted for only 38% of the physical copies of games sold on Switch 2 during the week of the console’s launch. In the UK, the figure was 52%.
- However, at the launch of the first Switch, the numbers were worse. Third-party games made up 18% of sales in the US and 11% in the UK.
- Cyberpunk 2077 is the best-selling third-party game on Switch 2. SEGA ranks as the third-largest publisher.
- Additionally, Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad noted that while Cyberpunk 2077 holds the title of “best-selling third-party game,” its sales on Switch 2 are not impressive. In the UK, the CD PROJEKT game was responsible for 5% of the console’s sold copies. Other projects had even worse sales.
- One of the publishers told The Game Business that third-party game sales on Switch 2 were "lower than the worst estimates."
