The MobileGamer portal has examined the current state of the mobile shooter market. It referred to data from the AppMagic service and compiled a top-9 revenue ranking of games in this genre on the App Store and Google Play as of September.
PUBG Mobile
Important: The revenue for the games listed below includes IAP, after publishers have paid commissions to mobile stores and taxes.
1. PUBG Mobile — $95.37 million;
2. Call of Duty: Mobile (excluding the Chinese version) — $21.09 million;
3. Free Fire — $17.33 million;
4. CrossFire: Legends — $15.28 million;
5. Free Fire MAX — $14.35 million;
6. Knives Out — $8 million;
7. Arena Breakout — $5.36 million;
8. War Robots — $5.24 million;
9. Hunting Sniper — $3.94 million.
MobileGamer noted that almost all the games in the top list are published by Asian companies. The two exceptions are War Robots by MY.GAMES and Call of Duty: Mobile by Activision Blizzard. However, the development of the latter involved TiMi Studios, a subsidiary of the Chinese giant Tencent.
