The analytical company Ampere Analysis has published a new forecast for the global video game market. Its total volume is expected to decrease slightly in annual terms in 2022.

Ampere estimates that by the end of this year, the volume of the gaming market will be $188 billion. This is 1.5% less than in 2021.
Before that, the industry showed annual growth — from $95 billion in 2015 to $191 billion in 2021.
Among the reasons is not only the natural decline after the peak of the pandemic. Problems with the supply of hardware remain a key negative factor in the console and PC market.
Ampere notes that the slight decline this year was partly influenced by the withdrawal of Western companies from the Russian market after February 24.
The gaming industry, like other industries, is also affected by inflation and other consequences of the economic crisis.
At the same time, analysts believe that in 2023 the gaming market will begin to grow again, reaching $195 million.
