Studio Cubic Games announced that the pixel shooter released in 2013, Pixel Gun 3D, will receive a sequel. It is called Pixel Gun 2.

The sequel will be an arena shooter in the signature pixel style. According to the developers, in Pixel Gun 2, they decided to significantly change the mechanics. Additionally, the game will feature cross-progression support, more responsive controls, improved matchmaking, as well as new maps and modes.
Unlike the original game, Pixel Gun 2 will be released simultaneously on both PC and mobile devices. Recall, it took Pixel Gun 3D 11 years to reach the PC. The exact release date is still unknown, but it is expected to be in early 2026.
Cubic Games plans to distribute Pixel Gun 2 for free.
Cubic Games emphasized that they do not intend to neglect Pixel Gun 3D after the sequel’s release. They will continue to regularly release updates for the first installment of the series with fresh content.
As part of the announcement, Cubic Games also shared several figures regarding Pixel Gun 3D. The studio reported that:
- Pixel Gun 3D revenue exceeded $230 million;
- Pixel Gun 3D downloads reached 300 million;
- More than 3 million people play Pixel Gun 3D monthly.
Cubic Games is a subsidiary studio of GDEV (formerly Nexters). It joined the company in 2022.
