Journalist Tom Henderson, citing his sources, said that the company expects to sell 18 million consoles in fiscal 2022. This means that according to Sony‘s plan, PS5 shipments will grow by 70% in 2023.
It is assumed that 12 million of the 30.5 million consoles are “old” PS5 models, the production of which will cease by the end of 2023.
Recall that a month ago Henderson said that in April 2023 Sony will launch a new version of the PS5 with a removable disk drive. It should go on sale in September 2023.
