Kiplan Case, one of the testers of the Star Citizen space simulator, complained about his dismissal. He stated that he lost his job at Cloud Imperium Games due to the fact that he stood up for colleagues who did not want to return from the “remote” to the office.

According to Case, the studio recently canceled the requirement for mandatory vaccination against coronavirus and began prohibiting work from home. According to the tester, such a policy can harm employees with weakened immunity.

In addition, Case noted that Austin, where the Cloud Imperium Games office is located, is the 16th city in the United States in terms of the cost of living, and not all studio employees can afford to rent there.

Cloud Imperium Games itself did not comment on the dismissal.
