Bit Odd is a studio founded in 2019 by three former lead developers of Supercell, responsible for games in the Clash franchise. Recently, it successfully completed a new funding round.

The round was led by the venture capital firm Griffin Gaming Partners, with participation from Makers Fund, Index Ventures, and several other investors. In total, they invested €17 million in Bit Odd.

This is the second funding round for Bit Odd. In 2022, the studio raised €5 million from Index Ventures.

The developers plan to use the funds to create a free-to-play multiplayer action game for mobile devices. They plan to release it early next year.

In an interview with VentureBeat, Bit Odd co-founder and CEO Lasse Louhento admitted that he considers Bit Odd's debut game the most important of his life. Ten years ago, he underwent surgery to remove brain cancer and began to reflect on what he wants to leave behind. Previously, Louhento was the head of development and art director for Clash of Clans.

According to Louhento, the Bit Odd team set out to create emotional and innovative projects.

"We founded Bit Odd because we felt like something was missing in games today. The rise of mobile gaming was incredible, but it led many studios to focus primarily on finances—they became dependent on metrics and competitor actions. We are focused on developing games that stir the soul, contain oddity, and tap into the emotional magic of gaming classics," Louhento said.
