Epic Games has officially released Unreal Engine 5.2, an updated version of the engine, which was shown in March at GDC 2023.
As the company promised, a plug-in for procedural generation of the environment in real time was built into the engine editor. With its help, developers can create large worlds much faster. Unreal Engine 5.2 received only an experimental version of the tool, Epic Games is going to refine it in future versions of the engine.
Other important innovations include the Substrate shading system, which allows you to make even more realistic materials, and the updated ML Deformer tool for creating believable muscles and clothes.
