Information has emerged about the creation of the Cyprus Game Developers Association (CYGMA).

It is reported that six companies have taken on the role of its founders:

  • Wargaming;
  • Gaijin Entertainment;
  • Owlcat Games;
  • MY.GAMES;
  • Helio Games;
  • GDCy.

The association will be managed by a board of directors representing both these companies and the broader industry ecosystem. Currently, the board includes Roman Zanin, Anton Yudintsev, Ilya Karpinsky, Elena Grigoryan, Sergey Orlovsky, Andrey Ivashentsev, and Georgios Mauntis from the legal firm Chrysostomides as the secretary.

The mission of the association is described as an effort to "support collaboration within the game developer community, encourage knowledge exchange, represent the collective interests of game creators, and assist in shaping a sustainable industry."

It is also noted that CYGMA will focus on enhancing the international visibility of game teams operating in Cyprus.

According to the association's website, there are currently more than 300 studios on the island, which released about 550 games in 2025 alone, generating approximately $1.5 billion in revenue.
