On August 14, Supercell released a major update for Squad Busters, which added a new world and characters to the game, as well as changed some gameplay and monetization aspects. As noted by the MobileGamer portal, thanks to this, the game's daily revenue from in-app purchases (IAP) increased significantly.

Squad Busters

MobileGamer, citing data from the service AppMagic, indicated that the game's daily revenue began to decline steadily shortly after its release and reached a low of $160,000 on August 7 [more details on the reasons can be read in this material, - ed. note]. However, the recent update led to a sharp increase in revenue. On the day it was released, Squad Busters earned $420,000, and the game's daily revenue remained at this level for the next few days. Currently, the daily revenue has fallen again, but it is still higher than before the update — on August 26, it was $249,950.

Nevertheless, Squad Busters still faces difficulties in attracting new players and retaining existing ones.

As MobileGamer writes, despite the release of the update, the DAU (Daily Active Users) of Squad Busters continued to decline. Currently, it is about 500,000. For comparison, at launch, the DAU was approaching 7 million.

Daily downloads are also falling. By August 26, they had dropped to 35,900. Currently, Squad Busters ranks fifth among Supercell's games in this metric, only ahead of Boom Beach.

Downloads of other company titles for August 26:

  • Brawl Stars — 243,700 downloads;
  • Clash of Clans — 78,400 downloads;
  • Clash Royale — 64,300 downloads;
  • Hay Day — 48,400 downloads;
  • Boom Beach — 2,600 downloads.

Overall, to date, Squad Busters has earned $42.86 million from IAP and has amassed 42.86 million downloads.
