American high school student Giulio Greco launched ForgeGUI at the beginning of the year—a platform equipped with AI-based tools that assist developers in speeding up game creation. He has now successfully completed a major funding round.
In total, investors contributed $3.2 million to ForgeGUI. Thanks to this, the overall market value of the startup has reached $40 million.
An interesting detail: Greco recently turned 18, but during the funding round, he was still a minor, so his parents had to sign the documents on his behalf.
As Greco explained in an interview with GamesBeat, the idea to launch ForgeGUI was not out of the blue. Despite his young age, he has been developing games himself for over eight years—in Roblox and Minecraft. Currently, only one other person is working on the platform’s development, but Greco plans to hire additional staff in the near future, using part of the raised funds.
According to Greco, the number of ForgeGUI users recently surpassed 300,000. He hopes that by the end of the year, the audience will reach 1 million, and eventually 5 million users.
