The Swedish gaming group Stillfront has announced the appointment of a new CEO. Starting November 1, 2026, Marcus Jacobs, previously employed at Electronic Arts, King, and Embark Studios, will lead the company. He will succeed Alexis Bonte.
According to Stillfront's announcement on October 22, Jacobs has been in the gaming industry for over 25 years. At EA, he held the position of Director of Monetization, and in 2012 he joined King, where he was part of the Candy Crush leadership team for seven years.
From 2020 to 2022, Jacobs served as the Chief Commercial Officer at Embark Studios. In 2022, Jacobs co-founded the Swedish studio Cult of the North, where he assumed the role of Product Director. Additionally, from 2022 to 2026, Jacobs was a member of Stillfront's board of directors.
Recall that Stillfront announced the upcoming change of CEO at the end of June. At that time, the company announced the search for Bonte's successor, who had led the group since October 2024.
- The appointment of the new leader coincided with the release of Stillfront's financial results for the third quarter of 2026.
- Revenue amounted to 1.291 billion Swedish kronor (approximately 130 million dollars), down 6% from the previous year. The organic decline in revenue was 1%.
- Adjusted EBITDAC (a modification of the traditional financial metric EBITDA) fell by 16% to 366 million kronor (approximately 37 million dollars).
- Net profit increased from 55 million to 95 million kronor.
- Organic revenue from key gaming franchises increased by 8%. Positive growth has been maintained for five consecutive quarters.
Outgoing CEO Alexis Bonte explained that the growth of Stillfront's core gaming sectors partially offset the revenue decline from other projects, which the company now primarily uses for cash flow generation.
The most notable growth was seen in the BIG, Empire, and Board sectors. According to Bonte, the positive trend was driven by the launch of new games, work on ongoing projects, and enhanced monetization.
It is worth noting that Stillfront owns several gaming studios and develops seven priority franchises: Jawaker, Supremacy, BIG, BitLife, Empire, and Albion.
