Last week marked two months since the release of the decorator simulator Urban Jungle by developers from Yakutia. To commemorate this, the game designer Künnei Vinokurova disclosed a series of figures.
Urban Jungle
- In two months, Steam users purchased Urban Jungle 20,000 times. Recall, more than half of the sales occurred in the first week — in the debut week alone, the game sold 13,000 copies.
- A total of 18,500 people launched Urban Jungle.
- The return rate is 10.5%.
- Currently, Urban Jungle has 165,950 wishlists. At the release time, there were approximately 50,000 fewer.
- The median time players spend on Urban Jungle has also increased. Initially, it was an hour, but now it's an hour and 20 minutes.
- Urban Jungle still has a "very positive rating" on Steam. 93% of 300 reviews are favorable.
- Additionally, according to the Steam Scout service, the overwhelming majority of reviews for Urban Jungle are written in English — 61%. Following that are reviews in Russian (8.9%), German (7%), and Simplified Chinese (5.6%).
Vinokurova did not disclose Urban Jungle's revenue. According to VG Insight, the game's gross revenue is $92,700. However, the service estimates the number of copies sold almost half below the actual - at 11,000 instead of 20,000. Therefore, the actual revenue could be higher. The Gamalytic service states a range from $105,800 to $221,800 with sales of 11,200-23,600 copies.
In any case, for the debut game from a three-person studio, which was initially conceived as a pet project, Urban Jungle showed decent results.
