The first mobile game to earn a billion dollars was Puzzle & Dragons in 2014. It was released in 2012. Despite its advanced age and seemingly forgotten successes, the project still earns astronomical sums.

According to Sensor Tower, in September 2022 Puzzle & Dragons earned $53 million in its native Japan, topping the country’s box office top. This is slightly higher than the game earned in March of this year (the earnings of the game as a whole have been at the level of more than $ 40 million per month for a year).

The current result of the game was achieved thanks to the collaboration with the film One Piece Film: Red, which was released in Japanese just in September. During the campaign, the game’s revenue jumped not only, but also downloads.
