Zynga has published financial figures for the fourth calendar quarter of 2018 and for the whole of last year. Its profit fell, but not as much as the company expected.
Results for the quarter
- The overall results for the fourth quarter exceeded the forecast for key financial indicators (which the company had already raised earlier).
- Net profit for the year fell to $1 million. A year ago, it was $12 million higher. Nevertheless, the profit turned out to be $2 million higher than Zynga had predicted.
- The company’s revenue reached $249 million – 7% more year-on-year.
- Mobile revenue totaled $228 million. This is 12% higher than last year.
- Zynga also has record figures for mobile advertising. Revenue from it amounted to $69 million, which is 23% higher in annual terms.
- In the fourth calendar quarter, Zynga achieved the best mobile performance in its history. This is thanks to the games Words With Friends, Merge Dragons!, CSR Racing 2 and Wonka’s World of Candy, the report clarifies.
Results for 2018
- Total revenue for the four calendar quarters reached $907 million. This is 5% more than in 2017.
- Profit for the year fell by $11 million to $15 million.
- Revenue from mobile games amounted to $816 million – 10% higher than in the previous year.
