Nintendo has earned $1 billion on its mobile games. This is without taking into account Pokemon titles.

Fire Emblem Heroes
This was reported by the analytical firm Sensor Tower.

There are currently six projects in Nintendo’s mobile portfolio, not counting IP Pokémon games. The most profitable of these six is Fire Emblem Heroes. She alone brought the Japanese giant $ 656 million, that is, 61% of the total amount. The game was released three years ago.

After it comes Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. She managed to bypass Dragalia Lost — she was the second most profitable in Nintendo’s mobile portfolio for a while. However, now the result of Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is $131 million, and Dragalia Lost is $123 million.

It is worth noting: the last game was predicted to have a very low income. It could become Nintendo’s least earning mobile project. Nevertheless, this title went to Dr. Mario World. Its revenue amounted to $4.8 million — only 1% of the total billion.

The last game released by Nintendo for mobile is Mario Kart Tour. During the fall and incomplete winter, it reached $86 million in revenue. This is 8% of the total revenue. Note that the team of this title experimented with monetization. She implemented not only IAP and gacha, but also subscription.

Sensor Tower also counted the installations of the entire portfolio. The total result is 452 million downloads. And here the unambiguous leader is Super Mario Run: it was downloaded 244 million times alone. Next comes Mario Kart Tour with 147 million installations.

Curiously, Nintendo’s highest—grossing smartphone game has the lowest downloads. Fire Emblem Heroes is responsible for only 4% of total installations. In this scenario, its financial success is explained by an extremely successful monetization system built on gacha.
