The deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vasily Vlasov proposed to create a fund for financing game development. According to him, the state should encourage the creation of domestic AAA games.

The LDPR member sent his proposal to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Maxim Akimov.
This is reported by RIA Novosti.
As Vlasov noted: “In the case of creating a really high-quality product, the costs are fully paid off, and the project brings developers a lot of money. The state could take on the co-financing of the creation of computer games on the terms of the return of the allocated funds.”
The latter means that developers will pay a share of revenue from the project equal to the amount allocated for it from the budget of the Russian Federation.
To this end, Vlasov proposes to establish a specialized fund. Note that this practice is already common in some countries. For example, in Germany, Great Britain, France and Canada, game dev enjoys federal support. But it is not known how things are there with the return of the allocated funds.
Vlasov also stressed that the volume of the global video game market is about $ 100 billion and three times the turnover of the film industry. At the same time, Newzoo analysts are confident that the video game market will earn more than $148 billion this year.
