According to the analytical resource App Annie, on Christmas Eve and the weekend that followed, the title from Mojang came out on top in the United States in terms of revenue in the category of “Simulators” and “Adventure Games”, and on the fourth among all the games of the American App Store.

A graph that reflects the place of Minecraft: Pocket Edition in the rating of the American App Store from November 27 to December 26. Data of the AppAnnie resource.

This is interesting primarily because Minecraft: Pocket Edition is a paid game. In the App Store, its cost is $7. And paid tayils, as a rule, earn less money than F2P games.

It should be noted that the game shows good results year after year for the New Year. Last year, over the Christmas holidays, Minecraft: Pocket Edition earned its creators $ 1 million. Thus, in 2013, it became the only paid game in the box office top of iOS applications – although then it could not beat the revenue of Clash of Clans and Candy Crush Saga.

Venturebeat suggests that the increase in the revenue of the game during the holidays is because parents who gave their children an iPad or iPhone could at the same time buy them Minecraft: Pocket Edition. Or people who got gift cards for Christmas used them to buy a title.
