The average salary of a game developer has decreased over the year,” says the Develop-online resource.

Last year it was £32,500, now it is £31,882. This is the lowest value in the last few years. The last time the average salary of developers reached its minimum in 2011. Then it was equal to £32,203.

The results, the authors of the study note, are unexpected. They believe that such indicators may be associated with a number of factors. For example, in the United Kingdom (where most of the respondents come from), the number of small indie studios that cannot afford high salaries has increased.

The assumptions are confirmed by the research data: out of 422 respondents, 77 identify themselves as employees of “micro-studios”, where the team consists of 10 people or less.

The resource also cited average annual salaries in the world and in England with a spread by profession.
