By the end of this year, the volume of the Japanese mobile games market will reach $6.2 billion. This means that Japan remains a leading player in the industry. The analytical company SuperData came to such conclusions based on the results of its own research.
Japan is a country with a large number of paying players. Therefore, despite the fact that there are much fewer users there than in the USA or China, the local volume of the mobile gaming market exceeds both Chinese and American. ARPU in Japan is also higher than in these countries.
SuperData also shares data on two other Asian markets – South Korea and China.
According to the company, the number of mobile gamers in China is 785 million. At the same time, the conversion rate and ARPU in the country are lower than in Japan and South Korea.
Android remains the most popular platform in Asia. Android stores in South Korea and China account for 73% of mobile gaming revenue.
