The revenues of the British company Games Workshop, which owns the rights to the Warhammer franchise, increased by 94% over the year. The company receives 96% of its licensing revenue from video games*.

Games Workshop’s revenue generated from licensing other people’s products over the past year amounted to £9.9 million ($12.8 million) it is distributed as follows:

  • 89% bring games for PC and consoles;
  • 7% of revenue comes from mobile games;
  • Board games and other products account for 4%.

In 2017-2018, more than ten video games were released under the license of Games Workshop. The most profitable of them are the desktop strategy Total War: Warhammer and the multiplatform co-op shooter Warhammer: Vermintide 2.

Games Workshop’s financial year turned out to be so good that all 1,700 employees were paid bonuses totaling $6.7 million.

The company’s total revenue was £220 million ($287 million), and revenues were £74.5 million ($97.2 million).
