Fire Emblem Heroes will add a subscription. It seems that Nintendo has decided that its most earning mobile game is capable of earning even more.

Two days later, on February 5, Fire Emblem Heroes players will be able to purchase a Feh Pass subscription. Its cost is $9.49 per month, writes Eurogamer.

Subscribers will get access to exclusive quests and cosmetics, as well as features that affect gameplay. One of these features is the ability to replay your turn (Fire Emblem Heroes is a turn—based tactical RPG) even after being killed in battle.

Interestingly, Fire Emblem Heroes brings in more money without a subscription than other Nintendo mobile games combined. It accounts for 61% of the publisher’s mobile revenue, as Sensor Tower analysts recently found out.

Monetization in Fire Emblem Heroes is based on a non-standard gacha. It allows the game to earn even with low installs (compared to the other five portfolio games). We published the monetization analysis of Fire Emblem Heroes here.

Fire Emblem Heroes is not the first game that Nintendo has monetized with a subscription. First, the publisher launched Mario Kart Tour, where gacha, IAP and subscription are combined. The game was released in the fall and has since earned $86 million.

Then the subscription appeared in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. To date, this is the second highest-earning title in the Nintendo mobile portfolio. Previously, the game was surpassed in revenue by Dragalia Lost for some time.

Apparently, Nintendo has recognized its subscription experiments as successful. Now the publisher wants to see how this type of monetization will affect the already earning title.
