Swedish holding Embracer Group is preparing for new purchases. The company announced the issue of 36 million new Class B shares and now plans to earn 7.6 billion Swedish kronor ($893.9 million) on this.

Embracer wants to spend the money from the sale of shares on strengthening its financial position and developing an acquisition strategy. In the near future, the holding has even more purchases of publishers, game developers and some “other assets” (probably game franchises).

Apparently, Embracer already has several companies in mind that may soon become part of the holding. Since, according to the Swedes, they have recently encountered a “growing number of potential takeover candidates” and are now actively analyzing them. The names of these candidates are not disclosed.

This is not the first time Embracer has received money for acquisitions of game publishers and studios through the issue of shares. This happened, for example, last October. Then the holding managed to raise about $648 million. Since then, the Swedes have acquired at least 16 companies.

Embracer’s recent acquisitions include Easybrain, Gearbox and Aspyr Media. All three deals were announced on the same day.
