Beamable, which is known for developing Star Trek Timelines and creating technology for game services, filed for bankruptcy. Despite the debt of $3.4 million, the company intends to continue its activities.Beamable CEO John Radoff (Jon Radoff) said that the studio hopes to quickly go through bankruptcy proceedings.

He stressed that all employees will keep their jobs, and last month was the best for the company.

The COVID-19 pandemic partly affected the bankruptcy. Beamable had several offices for 150 people, which the company stopped using. As a result, she owed another $637,000 in property assets.

“We’ve developed some great games, but we haven’t been able to turn them into a sustainable business and release hit after hit. At the same time, we have created a very useful technology platform,” explains Radoff.

Previously, the company was known as Disruptor Beam and produced games based on famous television series. After the sale of the Star Trek Timelines title, it changed its name to Beamable and developed a special SDK for servicing game services.

Cloud software is fully integrated with Unity and allows you to create in-game stores, as well as implement social functions.. “We see our service as a game engine for servers, which makes it easier for developers to work,” says Radoff

Beamable is now planning to put its accounts in order to continue working on its SDK and attract new funding.
