Startup Manticore Games has established a $1 million fund. The money will be distributed among the creators of games on the Core platform.
On Core, you can create and publish your own games, including multiplayer ones. Manticore Games positions the platform as “YouTube from the gaming industry,” writes Gamesindustry.biz .
Now “new games are being launched every day. New developers create great games in a very short time,” Manticore Games noted.
The alpha version of the service was launched four months ago. Now Manticore Games has introduced the Core Creator Payout Pilot program. This is the $1 million fund. From these funds, the startup will make payments to developers for the rest of the alpha period.
The amount intended for a particular developer depends on the popularity of his game. You need to multiply $3 by the DAU of the project. The DAU is determined by the monthly number of unique logins divided by the number of days in a calendar month.
Note that all titles in the Core library are free for both developers and players. Projects cannot be exported to other sites. “Our goal is to make sure that you don’t want to sell a game (created in Core) on Steam,” Manticore noted.
