Russian users will no longer be shown targeted ads on Facebook. Meta has suspended its placement in the country. She also stopped working with any advertisers from Russia.

According to Meta, Russian advertisers will no longer be able to create and post their creatives either in Russia or anywhere else in the world.

Meta’s decision will also affect advertising on Instagram. The fact is that the launch of targeted creatives in this social network is partly tied to the Facebook advertising cabinet.

According to the company, she was forced to do so “due to the difficulties of working in Russia at the moment.” The measures taken are temporary.

Recall that yesterday, on March 4, Roskomnadzor officially decided to block access to Facebook in Russia. Now Meta is trying to circumvent this restriction and return access to users.

Yesterday it also became known that Google suspended the sale of contextual advertising in all its services in Russia, including the search engine and YouTube. Similar measures were announced by Twitter and Snapchat.
