AlterGeo, a resident of Skolkovo, has released the first version of the innovative Gvidi mobile service for Android devices.
Last week, the app appeared on Google Play in Russian and English. Previously, Gvidi has proven itself well in the App Store – the iOS version of the service has already gathered a significant core of loyal audience and is regularly noted in editorial headings.Gvidi is a smart personal guide to cafes, bars and restaurants.
It provides an intelligent search for catering establishments based on individual preferences of a person. Gvidi studies the user’s social graph via Facebook, Twitter, VKontakte and a number of other open sources, compares it with a detailed database of places and predicts the level of sympathy of this user for a particular restaurant. As a result, for each of the nearby establishments, Gvidi indicates with what probability they will appeal to each specific person, and can advise the one that best suits his preferences.”The success of the Gvidi iOS application has proved that users are really interested and need a high-quality personal recommendation service that makes it as easy as possible to find the right places in a big city,” says Anton Baranchuk, CEO of AlterGeo.
– Now it is not so difficult to find any information in principle, because everything is on the Internet. The biggest problem is how to quickly navigate the ocean of all kinds of data and make the right choice. Gvidi effectively solves the complex task of finding cafes and restaurants for users by independently analyzing open sources and giving each person personal tips. The popularity of Gvidi is a signal for the market: “smart” recommendation services for other areas of life can also be widely in demand.”Recall that the Gvidi mobile service was launched in Russia in November 2012 as a free iOS application.
Last spring, it had its own booking system for cafes, bars and restaurants. The developers plan to add this functionality, as well as the ability to purchase coupons for special discounts, also in one of the next versions of Gvidi for Android.Links
