Finnish mobile platform Jolla, in collaboration with Rovio, has released an Angry Birds-style launcher for its Sailfish operating system.
Together with the launcher, the Android user will get access to themed ringtones, Rovio’s ToonsTV channel and mobile wallpapers with angry birds.
Despite the fact that Jolla is trying to popularize its own OS, creating a themed launcher for Android may seem like a paradoxical solution. However, given the popularity of the Rovio brand, this is rather a bold advertising move.
The launcher has already appeared in the public domain in the Chinese app stores Taobao and UC. In the Google Store, it is expected “in the near future,” according to representatives of Jolla.
The main activity is the development and sale of smartphones and software for them. The most significant project is the Sailfish operating system, which is based on the distribution and development of the Mer project core, originating from the MeeGo project. The company was founded in 2011.
