The prospects of WB Games were announced by Stephen Totilo, editor of the Axios portal, with reference to a representative of WarnerMedia.
As a result of the deal, part of the gaming division will remain with AT&T, but the rest of the studios will become part of the new company.
Totilo also wonders who will get the rights to the patented Nemesis system. The fate of the mobile division of WB Games remains unknown.
Julia Alexander from IGN initially also wrote that the new unnamed company will include only some studios. She later deleted the tweet, but promised to clarify the details. - WB Games Montréal are the creators of Batman: Arkham Origins and the upcoming Gotham Knights.
- The company also includes divisions in New York, San Diego and San Francisco.
- The merger of WarnerMedia and Discovery became known today.
As part of the deal, AT&T, the parent company of WarnerMedia, will receive $43 billion in cash, debt securities and retention of a certain part of the debt. At the same time, she will control 71% of the shares of the new company.
At the moment there are no official comments about the fate of WB Games. Discovery only said that it was going to develop large WarnerMedia franchises, like the DC film universe. However, there are no specifics about the game direction in the statements.
