Vela Games studio, created by EA and Riot Games veterans, has raised $3.1 million in a new round of funding. Total investments in the developer reached $6.9 million.
The money will be used to create the first multiplayer game in the new genre of MOCO (multiplayer online co-operative). It was invented by the studio itself. What will be her debut game and whether it will be released soon is unknown.
Vela Games opened in Dublin two years ago. It was founded by League of Legends developers Travis George and Lisa Newon George, as well as Brian Kaiser with 11 years of experience in EA. According to VentureBeat, there are only 16 people in the Vela Games team.
It should be noted that the investment round was headed by the London Venture Partners fund. Most recently, he invested in the startup of the co-founder Kongregate and the hyper-casual platform Coda.
