Summoners Arena is a Vietnamese RPG based on blockchain, which managed to attract the attention of investors. As part of the seed round, its authors raised $3 million. The general director of Krafton also invested his funds in the project. The developers announced the completion of the round in their blog on February 11.

The main investor was the hedge fund Pantera Capital, specializing in cryptocurrencies.

Coinbase Ventures, GuildFi, Spartan Group, Kyros Ventures, Onechain Technology and Krafton CEO Kim Chang-han also participated in the round.

The funds raised will be spent on the development of the Summoners Arena universe, the development of additional features and the integration of new tools for players.

Summoners Arena is an idle RPG based on blockchain. The title’s business model is similar to other NFT projects like Axie Infinity. However, the developers themselves describe it as play-own-earn (POE) — “play-own-earn”. Thus, players can create digital items themselves and sell them in the form of NFT.

According to Pantera Capital partner Paul Veradittakit, POE is the next step in the development of blockchain gaming, which replaces the “play-to-earn” model. He stressed that the main thing here is still the gameplay, and the crypto economy is already in the appendage.

The development of Summoners Arena was handled by OneSoft studio with the support of Zitga and Sonat. The game is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2022. In the near future, the company also promises to present a separate fritupley version. According to the roadmap of the project, it will have PvE and PvP modes, a guild system, quests and the sale of NFT land.
