Indie studio Metacore has again received a large tranche from Supercell. This time, the Finns opened a credit line for her for $ 180 million. The money will be used to scale Merge Mansion, a project combining merge mechanics with meta in the spirit of Homescapes.

The developers plan to spend the bulk of the allocated funds on marketing the title. Metacore also wants to expand its staff and hire ten more employees. It should be noted that now about 30 people work in the studio.

“Merge Mansion has reached its targets, and we continue to develop the game,” said Mika Tammenkoski, CEO of Metacore. “We believe that with her we can reach the top of the charts in stores. But it requires significant investments due to the fritupley model of the project.”

Supercell has been supporting the Metacore team for several years.

The Finns first invested in the studio in 2018, when it worked under the name Everywear Games and was engaged in games for smartwatches. At that time, Supercell invested $5.9 million in developers.

The company made the next investment last September — the newly-named Metacore. Supercell invested $17.6 million in the studio, and provided $11.8 million in the format of a credit line. These funds were supposed to help with the release of the game and attract users.

The launch of Merge Mansion took place in mid-September 2020, and currently 800 thousand people play the title every day. According to the developers, by September 2021, the project’s revenue could reach $54 million.
