Koch Media, a subsidiary of Embracer Group, decided to support the Payday 3 shooter. She has already signed a deal with Swedish Starbreeze and promised to allocate approximately €50 million for the game.
The company will take over the publication of the title worldwide, as well as help with its development and marketing. Moreover, the cooperation will be long — Koch Media plans to support Payday 3 for at least 18 months from the date of release.
Starbreeze will retain the rights to the franchise.
Recall that Starbreeze was going to find a publisher for the shooter at the beginning of last year. Plans were hindered by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The developers tried to rectify the situation and in June 2020 announced the release of new shares in the amount of $ 26.8 million. This money Starbreeze just wanted to spend on the development of the game.
It is assumed that Payday 3 will be released in 2023 for PC and consoles at once, along with additional content. To date, all parts of the series have gathered an audience of 28 million people.
