Krafton has announced a merger with its subsidiary studio, PUBG Corp. After the merger, the development team of the latter will continue to work independently, but the publishing and technical support units will come under the direct control of Krafton.

As the parent company explains, the permutations will help the studio focus exclusively on game development and bring game development to a completely different level.

We are confident that such a system will lead to sustainable growth and the ability to make outstanding products within certain genres.

Kim Chang-han

CEO of Krafton

The merger is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2020.

Three years ago, Krafton, then known as Bluehole, released the PUBG battle royale. Against the background of the huge success of the game, the Koreans created a subsidiary studio — PUBG Corp. It was assumed that the new company would support the title, manage business processes, etc.
