Raw Fury has entered into a partnership with the investment firm Altor. She acquired a majority stake in a Swedish company. The publisher will retain its autonomy. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed. This became known on August 16.
According to Raw Fury, the deal does not mean that the company has “sold out” and changed its principles for working with indie developers.
The investment was necessary for the company to reach a new level and continue to grow. We are talking about increasing budgets — both for publishing and for other initiatives such as supporting funds for developers.
“Altor is a great partner, and normally you would see a lot of blah blah blah here. However, in the manner characteristic of Raw Fury, I want actions, not words, to speak for us,” said Jonas Antonsson, CEO of the company.
Raw Fury has been around since 2015. During this time, the publisher has released 24 games and has a number of other projects in the pipeline. Thanks to the deal with Altor, the company will be able to publish larger and more ambitious titles, while continuing to support experimental and arthouse games.
In 2018, the investment firm Nordisk Film Games also acquired a minority stake in Raw Fury for $5.5 million.
