In its annual report, Focus Home Interactive announced plans for further expansion. As part of this strategy, the company has created a special internal group that deals with M&A transactions. The first of them was the purchase of Streum On Studio, known for shooters in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.Necromunda: Hired Gun
Focus Home Interactive has announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in Streum On Studio on its official website.
The publisher paid for the transaction in cash and its own shares, but the exact amount was not disclosed.
“This purchase once again demonstrates our desire to create a strong integrated group of companies by attracting and cooperating with the best personnel,” said Focus Home President Christophe Nobileau, noting the studio’s expertise in the shooter genre.
The French company Streum On Studio was established in 2007. However, the developers began their journey back in the late 90s, when they released an amateur project Syndicate Black Ops on the engine of the first Half-Life. The studio’s debut game was released in 2007 – a cyberpunk shooter with RPG elements E.Y.E.: Divine Cybermancy, based on their own board game A.V.A.
The most famous Streum On Studio brought the shooter Space Hulk: Deathwing for Focus under the license of Warhammer 40,000, which sold almost 1 million copies. In June, the studio is scheduled to release the action Necromunda: Hired Gun in the same universe. The publisher of both projects was the company Focus Home Interactive.
The publisher himself also reported record revenue for the fiscal year that ended on March 31. Focus Home earned €171 million — 20% more in annual terms. The main drivers of growth were SnowRunner, Curse of the Dead Gods, as well as a back catalog consisting of games such as A Plague Tale: Innocence and World War Z.
