The Swedish Embracer Group is getting bigger. This time, eight companies joined the ranks of the holding, among them 3D Realms, CrazyLabs and Ghost Ship Games. All purchases cost the Swedes $213.8 million.
Embracer Group did not specify how much it paid for each specific company. However, she expects that the purchased studios will bring her revenue of $232-$348 million in the next fiscal year (it will end on March 31, 2023).
Thanks to the deals, Embracer will grow to 8,000 employees.

- CrazyLabs is an Israeli publisher and developer of mobile games. His portfolio includes such titles as Super Stylist, Tie Dye, ASMR Slicing and Acrylic Nails. According to Embracer Group, the acquisition of CrazyLabs was the largest of all today’s purchases. Over the past year, the publisher has earned $152.9 million, and its games have collected 4.5 billion downloads over the entire existence. The company will come under the control of DECA Games;
- 3D Realms is the Danish publisher of the cult Duke Nukem series of games. As part of the deal, CEO Mike Nielsen will leave the company, and his place will go to the current vice president Frederik Schreiber. The publisher will become part of Saber Interactive;
- Ghost Ship Games is a Danish development studio known for the Deep Rock Galactic shooter. Previously, Embracer Group already owned 30% of the studio’s shares, now it has bought the remaining 70%. Ghost Ship Games will come under the control of Coffee Stain;
- Grimfrost is a Swedish online retailer. Sells clothes and accessories that are stylized to the Viking culture. The authors of the series “Game of Thrones” and “Vikings” collaborated with him. Embracer Group bought 70% of Grimfrost shares;
- Slipgate Ironworks is a studio from Denmark. On her account, the Ghostrunner action and the GRAVEN shooter. The studio will work with Saber Interactive;
- Force Field is a Dutch VR studio that developed National Geographic Explore. Will collaborate with Vertigo Games under Koch Media;
- DigixArt is a French studio known for the games 11-11 Memories Retold, Lost in Harmony and the upcoming Road 96 release. Will become part of Koch Media;
- Easy Trigger is a studio from Sweden that developed Huntdown. Under the leadership of Coffee Stain will continue to work on Huntdown, and later will develop new games.
