Croteam Croatian studio has a new owner. Now the company’s assets belong to the publisher Devolver Digital. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
According to the publisher, it was only a matter of time before such a deal was carried out: “we have been dating for so long that we decided to get married already.” The two companies began collaborating ten years ago, when Devolver Digital helped publish the shooter Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter. In total, over the years they have released about ten games together.
Neither Croteam nor Devolver Digital report on what conditions the takeover was carried out. It is only known that the developers will retain full creative freedom and continue to work on current projects.
Devolver Digital is an American publisher and film distributor. The Serious Sam title from Croteam was the first game that the publisher released.
Croteam is a Croatian studio founded in 1993. The most famous projects were the Serious Sam series of shooters, The Talos Principle puzzle and Football Glory football simulator.
