Polish 11 bit studios acquired 40% of the shares of Fool’s Theory studio. Thus, the developers of Frostpunk intend to gain a foothold in the genre of role-playing games. The final value of the transaction may amount to $1.49 million.According to 11 bit studios, the purchase of the share will be paid in cash.
The shares will be repurchased directly from the co-founders of Fool’s Theory in two tranches:
- Fool’s Theory will receive 2.62 million Polish zlotys ($600 thousand) within 10 days after the conclusion of the transaction;then the studio will receive 1.57-3.67 million zlotys ($360-840 thousand) — the amount of payments will depend on sales of the upcoming Vitriol RPG and its Steam user ratings received during the first six months after release.
- According to 11 bit studios, she is also interested in the expertise of Fool’s Theory on RPG development.
For its part, the company is ready to provide marketing and publishing services. Together, the studios intend to create role-playing games using new IP.
Fool’s Theory is a team from Poland, founded in 2018. Initially, she helped in the development of Baldur’s Gate III and Outriders. The studio has also released the isometric RPG Seven, and is currently working on the Vitriol project.
11 bit studios is a Polish developer best known for Frostpunk and This War of Mine. The other day it became known that the proceeds from the last studio will be transferred to the Ukrainian Red Cross within a week.
