M&A deals continue in the iGaming market. Merkur Group has announced that it has agreed to acquire the American online gambling provider White Hat Studios.

The cost and full terms of the purchase have not been publicly disclosed. It is known only that the White Hat Gaming platform and the white label service business are not included in the deal and will remain under the management of the current owners.

Before the deal is finalized, it must be approved by regulators.

Michael Gauselmann, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Merkur Group, described the acquisition of White Hat Studios as the next phase of the group's online expansion following its entry into the European online segment with the purchase of Blueprint in 2012. Merkur Group expects that the acquisition will accelerate the scaling of its business and strengthen its position in the U.S. market. In turn, White Hat Studios will gain additional resources and expertise to develop its products.

Founded in 2021, White Hat Studios became the first provider to launch online slots in all seven regulated states in the U.S. The company's portfolio includes the House of Brands and 7s Fire Blitz slot series, as well as the Jackpot Royale network.
