Last year, the iGaming segment for the first time accounted for more than half of the total revenue of the Philippine gambling industry. This is according to data from the local regulator, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
According to PAGCOR estimates, the total gross revenue of the industry in the Philippines amounted to 396.14 billion Philippine pesos (6.64 billion USD), which is 6.39% more compared to 2024. Of this amount, online games, online bingo, and online poker accounted for 201.12 billion Philippine pesos (3.36 billion USD) or 50.77%.
It is reported that iGaming started actively gaining momentum as early as the first quarter of 2025. By the end of January-March, online platforms generated 49.36% of the Philippine gambling industry's revenue, while land-based establishments were responsible for 47.32% of the revenue, and a further 3.31% was brought in by gaming halls managed by PAGCOR itself.
According to PAGCOR head Alejandro Tengco, the decline in the figures for land-based establishments is largely linked to the gradual change in player behavior. Recently, more and more people prefer to play on online platforms.
