The American company DraftKings, specializing in online casinos, betting, and fantasy sports, is facing a lawsuit. The plaintiff is a resident of the USA named Daniel Vest.

Vest accused DraftKings of using artificial intelligence to identify customers who are more likely to continue betting after receiving promotional offers.

According to Vest, he is a longtime DraftKings customer. Over several years, the plaintiff lost thousands of dollars on its platform, and recently he has been regularly receiving promotional emails and other notifications urging him to continue gambling. Vest claims that in just one month, he received no less than 70 such messages.

Vest believes that DraftKings violated Massachusetts state law by not informing customers about the use of AI for such purposes.

The company itself denies the allegations. It stated that it does not employ AI to target customers based on their losses or signs of problematic behavior.
