The era is gone. FarmVille will stop working on Facebook at the end of this year. The reason is the unwillingness to translate the project to HTML5 after the decision of the social network to stop supporting Flash games at home.Recall that the official reason why Facebook “closes the valve” to Flash games is the termination of Adobe Flash Player support in all browsers.

Facebook announced its plans back in June of this year.

And now FarmVille has officially become one of the games that this decision will “kill”. December 31 will be the last day of the game, which was released in 2009.

Users will be able to make in-game purchases until November 17, after which the system will be completely disabled. Players will also have to spend all the currency before the end of the year, as there is no possibility of a refund.

FarmVille is one of the popularizers of the farm genre. After its release, it remained the most popular game on Facebook for two years.

Over the past 10 years, the games in the series have generated 700 million installations. Later this year, Zynga will also release the third part on mobile devices.
