Blizzard has reported sales of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. In the first day after its release, it sold 3.7 million copies, which allowed it to become the fastest-selling PC game in history (according to Activision).The company told about this in a new report.

At the same time, the previous record also belonged to the Blizzard game — in 2012, Diablo III sold over 3.5 million copies on the launch day.

The company also shared other metrics on World of Warcraft:

  • since the launch of Shadowlands on November 23 (and a few months before), the number of WoW players on a monthly or long-term subscription has reached a historic high;this year, users have spent more time in the game than in any of the similar periods over the past 10 years;
  • The total time spent by players in World of Warcraft this year has almost doubled compared to the same period last year.
