The Russian company Pixonic released the shooter War Robots back in April 2014. After almost seven years, the game continues to earn. Moreover, of the $500 million earned by her all the time, half of the amount fell on the last three years.

As the developers indicated in a press release, such revenue allowed War Robots to enter the list of the highest-grossing games. This top includes Call of Duty: Mobile, PUBG Mobile and Fortnite.

Revenue of $500 million includes title revenue on all platforms. Recall that initially War Robots was released only for mobile devices. However, later the PC version of the game appeared. Exactly how much money was spent on each of the platforms is not specified.

The War Robots project is a huge achievement of Pixonic and the team that is working on it. We managed to create a great game that is played by hundreds of thousands of people every day. However, it's too early to stop. We plan to develop the world of War Robots further. Our goal is a global franchise.

Pixonic also shared two important dates related to revenue:

  • April 28, 2017. The third birthday of War Robots and the most profitable day in the history of the shooter. During the day, the players spent $995,000;
  • May 2020, which set a monthly record for revenue — $13.6 million. According to the company, success is due to the limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the experiments of the project’s operating team.

War Robots is an online shooter in which the user plays as a combat robot pilot. Since its release, the game has been downloaded more than 185 million times, and last year the project entered the top 5 highest-grossing mobile shooters in the United States. The company did not share the size of the project’s audience, but noted that over a million active users have been playing War Robots for more than two years.
