AppMagic analysts found out which hyper-casual games collected the most downloads in early 2022. The first place in the quarterly top this time went to Merge Master — Dinosaur Fusion from Homa Games.

To begin with, we note that in the first quarter, mobile gamers downloaded hyper-casual games not as actively as at the end of last year. According to AppMagic estimates, in January-March, hyper—casuals collected a total of 4.2 billion downloads – 8.3% less than in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Which games were the most popular?

1. Merge Master — Dinosaur Fusion (51.4 million downloads)
Last November, Homa Games released a tactical arcade game on Google Play.

In it, the user needs to assemble an army of warriors and dinosaurs, combining identical characters with each other.

As analysts have noticed, Merge Master is very similar to Merge Battle 3D: Dragon Fight, which was released six months before it. The games have a similar design, and the tasks for the gamer are the same. At the same time, Merge Battle 3D has been downloaded only 3 million times during its existence.

2. Count Masters (41.9 million downloads)
This is a runner published in the spring of 2021 by FreePlay.

In it, the player must bring as many low-poly men to the finish line as possible, passing spikes, cliffs and hostile crowds.

3. Race Master 3D (41.8 million downloads)
The racing simulator that was in the lead last quarter, even if it no longer leads the top, still gives strong results.

In the first three months of 2022, he collected 41.8 million downloads and $460.4 thousand in revenue (after deductions to stores and tax payments).

Recall that Race Master 3D was developed by Beresnev Games, and published by SayGames.

4. Find the Alien (36.9 million downloads)
At the end of 2021, Israeli Moonee Publishing released a game whose name can be translated into Russian as “Find an alien”.

Actually, this is the essence of the title. The user is asked to scan the characters to understand which of them is human and which is an alien from another planet. The alien must then be killed.

5. Paper Fold (32.2 million downloads)
A puzzle in which you have to fold paper to get the right picture.

It was published in March 2021 by Good Job Games.

6. Going Balls (29.5 million downloads)
A variation of the runner released by Supersonic Studios.

Here a ball is rolling along the obstacle course. On the way to the finish line, he must try to knock down as many coins and keys from the reward chests as possible. Mountains of cubes and steep cliffs can prevent him from doing this.

Going Balls was released on Google Play last February, and on the App Store in February 2020.

7. Color Match (29.3 million downloads)
Another game from Supersonic Studios.

But now the user needs to color models of objects: from fruits to machinery. The color of the model should be chosen as close as possible to the original thing. Then the finished model can be sold at auction.

8. Tiles Hop: EDM Rush! (28.3 million downloads)
This is a musical arcade game from the Vietnamese Amanotes Pte.

In the game, the user will have to click on the ball to the music so that it jumps from tile to tile.

At the end of the quarter Tiles Hop: EDM Rush! earned more than the rest of the hypercausals in the top — $ 1.2 million. The game was released in 2018.

9. Hair Challenge (27.4 million downloads)
The runner, which was published by the Turkish Rollic Games in April last year.

In it, the player must pick up colorful wigs during the race. The more he picks up, the longer his character’s hair will become. However, there are obstacles on the way that will try to shorten his hairstyle.

10. Money Rush (26.4 million downloads)
Another runner Rollic Games closes the top ten.

This time it’s about money. The main task of the player is to roll as many coins or bills as possible to the finish line, depending on the level. On the obstacle course, you will have to drive through arches from time to time, which either add money or take it away.
