Mode 7 studio has released a teaser of the second part of Frozen Synapse. Along with the video, additional information about the game appeared.
The first game of the Frozen Synapse series was released on PC in May 2011. The title had quite an original gameplay for a turn-based strategy. The moves were planned 5 seconds in advance. After the “Prime” button was pressed, the player’s soldiers followed the instructions simultaneously with the enemy units. Then the user started planning a new move.
The project received positive reviews on Metacritic and at a price of $24.99 sold 700 thousand copies. In 2014, a remake of the same game was released from another developer – Frozen Synapse Prime. Sales of the new version amounted to 96 thousand.
A full-fledged sequel to the series called Frozen Synapse 2 was announced in February. This time, Mode 7 became the developer again. In the new game, users were promised an “open world”. With the release of the press release, it became known exactly what the creators of the game meant by this. A city is automatically generated for each single-user campaign. The player will be able to fight “in any of the buildings or in every corner of the map.”
Compared to the previous parts, the new game will increase the number of classes. Stealth elements and multiplayer mode will be added.
The PC beta of Frozen Synapse 2 will be released in Early Access this year. If users accept the game well, the developers will implement 3v3 and 4v4 modes and add a cooperative walkthrough.
The developers promise to share information on other platforms a little later. Recall that the first game of the series was released in 2011, and appeared on mobile in the spring of 2013.
